Local Pub Witheridge

Our local pub in Witheridge is a traditional country inn based in the heart of Devon. The pub is family-run and all of our staff are friendly and welcoming, and with our great choice of food and drinks, we are always highly recommended by our customers. We are also a bed and breakfast, and our cosy rooms are perfectly suited to families, couples and those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Our History

Built in the 18th century, the inn has had many uses over the years, from housing the local vicarage to becoming a veterinary practice. In the 1970s, it was converted back to a public house and has remained this way to the present day.

We acquired The Mitre Inn in 2003 and gradually transformed it from just a pub to both a celebrated restaurant and a small hotel. Our rooms, restaurant and bar are all traditionally decorated with interesting bits and bobs to keep the feel of an old English inn. Our acclaimed menu and great selection of wines, local ales and beers have something for everyone to enjoy.
